本图集绘制数据来源为南海物理海洋学数据集(South China Sea Physical Oceanographic Dataset 2014,简称SCSPOD14)的数据。该数据集在收集大量中国科学院南海海洋研究所的历史科考数据基础上,融合了WOD(World Ocean Database)、Argo 浮标等开放数据,经多重严格的质量控制,汇集了51392个温盐廓线(WOD09:1907 年2 月至2009 年1 月共33198个有效剖面。SCSIO:1971 年9 月至2014 年9 月共10 193个有效剖面。Argo:2009 年1 月至2014 年12 月共8001个WOD09 未包括的有效剖面)。该数据集的建立为分析南海及其邻近海域区域的热力学过程、水团的时空变化及南海海盆尺度和中尺度海洋结构特征提供了观测基础。
The data used for plotting this atlas is sourced from the South China Sea Physical Oceanographic Dataset 2014 (abbreviated as SCSPOD14). This dataset is developed based on a large volume of historical expedition data from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, combined with open datasets including the World Ocean Database (WOD) and Argo floats. After undergoing multiple rigorous quality control procedures, it contains a total of 51,392 temperature-salinity profiles: 33,198 valid profiles from WOD09 spanning February 1907 to January 2009, 10,193 valid profiles from SCSIO covering September 1971 to September 2014, and 8,001 valid profiles from Argo that are not included in WOD09, dating from January 2009 to December 2014. The establishment of this dataset provides an observational basis for analyzing thermodynamic processes, temporal and spatial variations of water masses, as well as basin-scale and mesoscale oceanic structural characteristics in the South China Sea and its adjacent marine areas.
