Analysis of the Cold Hydrogen Gas Distribution in Galaxy NGC 4438

This repository contains the research manuscript "Analysis of the Cold Hydrogen Gas Distribution in Galaxy NGC 4438." The study develops a simplified theoretical model describing the radial distribution of cold neutral hydrogen (H I) gas in NGC 4438 prior to its interaction with the companion galaxy NGC 4435. The model adopts an exponential disk surface density profile and discusses the effects of tidal interaction, shock heating, and gas stripping on the evolution of the galaxy's interstellar medium.
