The human hippocampal FFPE sections (n = 3, 3 for no AD, advanced AD) were received from the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer's Disease Research Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Novogene Corporation completed DNA metagenomic sequencing with specific emphasis on non-human genomic information. Metagenomic sequencing analysis targeted the HSV-1 genome.
