Listeria monocytogenes are important foodborne pathogens responsible for the disease of listeriosis in humans. Strain Lm N1546 is a clinical isolate recovered from a patient during the 2011 Swiss listeriosis outbreak linked to contaminated imported cooked ham products. The genome sequence of this strain will be used for comparative analysis with other sequenced Listeria monocytogenes genomes to identify genetic elements associated with virulence and stress resistance in this bacterium.
