Asia records by far the largest water withdrawals worldwide, with more than 2.6 trillion cubic meters in 2020. This represented roughly two-thirds of global water withdrawals that year. Meanwhile, water withdrawals in Oceania stood below 20 billion cubic meters in 2020.
