The purpose of weather observations is to provide detailed information of weather and climate to meet the needs of the various users. Some users require up-to-the-minute information; others require daily, monthly or long term climatological data. Since weather systems and climatic conditions do not recognize international boundaries, it is necessary that weather information be freely exchanged throughout the world.
