Genome sequencing of Rigidoporus sp FMD21 which can degrade 2,3,7,8-TCDD in liquid culture. The hypothesis is that this fungus expresses a range of different laccase enzymes that are involved in the breakdown of 2,3,7,8-TCDD. Using whole genome sequencing we found 7 full length laccase genes which were further investigated.
