Gentiana triflora Pall. has anti-inflammatory constituents. Chemical studies on the ethanol extract of G. triflora afforeded one previously unreported benzoate glycoside (1) and a known one 2-hydroxy-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-benzoic acid (2) Anti-inflammatory bioassay showed that both compounds 1 and 2 displayed a weak anti-inflammatory effect (IC50 value of 35.2 μM and 28.9 μM) in the RAW 264.7 macrophages.
