The microbial community analysis confirmed that the known AOB Nitrosomonas genus and nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) Nitrospira genus in the seed sludge both disappeared in our reactor and the AOB Nitrosospira genus was predominated, indicating that the Nitrosospira-like bacteria can drive the partial nitritation under slightly acidic condition.
