资源简介:
The Desert Fireball Network (DFN) is a network of autonomous remotely operated camera systems deployed across Australia. This facility continuously observers night sky, the primary purpose is to capture bright meteors - fireballs, triangulate their visible path through the Earth atmosphere, calculate meteoroid orbit, back trace their origing in the solar system and in special cases (if the space rock survived the encounter with Earth) also calculate the fall location and find the meteorite and study it's composition as of a sample of space rock with known origin. On top of that, this data can be used also for other science disciplines then solar system geology - for example astronomy - detecting transient events. The data at the Pawsey data store is still imagery and video records of night sky including auxiliary data and meta data.
