EERI Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition

<p>The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute's Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition (EERI SDC) began in 2004 as a way of fostering interest in earthquake engineering in undergraduate students.</p> <p>Teams are asked to design and build balsa wood towers to meet a specific design requirement (which changes annually). The teams make predictions of how the structures will behave when subjected to three simulated earthquakes. The towers are then subjected to these simulated earthquakes on a miniature shake table. </p> <p>The competition began in 2004 under the direction of the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Institute's (PEER) Student Leadership Council (SLC). It was later taken over by the EERI SLC.</p> <p>This dataset contains photos, videos, and results from the competition.</p> <nb:citations></nb:citations>
