Icing (aufeis) and seasonal water chemistry in lakes and streams on the subarctic Taiga Shield near Yellowknife, NT.

This dataset represents a compilation of water chemistry and carbon composition parameters collected at eight lake-stream complexes in the subarctic Taiga Shield near Yellowknife, NT, where icings (aufeis) formed in the winter in downstream channels; the dataset also includes the results of an incubation experiment performed at one site, and lake level data at two sites. The purpose of these analyses is to 1) characterize controls on icing formation and chemistry, 2) investigate seasonal variation in water chemistry, focusing on winter flow, and 3) explore seasonal differences in, and chemical drivers of biological processing.
