Microplastics in Sitio Pulo, Navotas, Philippines 2019

A dataset of 449 microplastic fragments from Sitio Pulo, Navotas City, Philippines. The microplastics were isolated from the surface water of the barrier island on July 4 and 25, 2019. Four sites of the island were selected for the collection: Site A - 14°40’39.6’’N, 120°55’43.4’’E; Site B - 14°40’44.9’’N, 120°55’38.9’’E; Site C: 14°41’32.5’’N, 120°55’39.4’’E; and Site D: 14°40'40.1''N, 120°55'43.4''E. Sites A and B are located coastal side (facing Manila Bay) of the island while sites C and D are located on the lagoon side (facing Metro Manila mainland) of the island. The microplastics isolated were characterized by image analysis estimating is length (in micrometers), roundness score, CIE color coordinates L*, a* and b*.
