Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation at Eleanor Street, Blackburn, October 2022

This collection comprises images and CAD from a strip, map and record exercise in advance of the construction of a proposed care home development. This work was undertaken by Rocket Heritage and Archaeology Ltd in October 2022. The excavation has established that the mill buildings were comprehensively removed when they were demolished in the later 20th century. Only elements of the floors and those portions of the boiler house which were below ground level remained. The boiler room and tank are clearly contemporary as they share construction methods and materials.
