EU Financial Allocations to Major Humanitarian Actors in Greece in the Aftermath of the 2015 Refugee Crisis (2016–2021): AMIF and ESI

This dataset compiles beneficiary-level EU financial allocations to migration and humanitarian actors operating in Greece between 2016 and 2021. It includes funding from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Emergency Support Instrument (ESI). The dataset is based on records from the EU Financial Transparency System and official documentation obtained through access to documents requests. It contains project-level financial records, including beneficiary name, funding instrument, responsible Directorate-General, contracted amount, programme reference, and project duration. Each Excel file corresponds to a specific beneficiary organisation (UNHCR, IOM, UNICEF, UNFPA, IRC, DRC, KEELPNO -related allocations). In total, the dataset comprises 1,047 project-level financial records. The dataset underpins the financial and governance analysis conducted within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) project and supports the study of EU migration governance and humanitarian financing in Greece.
