The goal of the study was to characterize the core oral microbiome of the male lewis rat at two locations: toothless alveolar crest and the first molar. Study the alpha and beta diversity between individual rats and the sample collection locations. Taxonomy analysis of the rat oral samples to compare to human oral cavities.
