Survey of Allobates sumtuosus and Atelopus spumarius at riparian zones in a forest of terra-firme in central Amazonia, Brazil

The visual and acoustic active searches were conducted in 40 sampling units distributed along the riparian drainage system of the Reserva Florestal Adoplho Ducke, northern Manaus, Amazonas, between January and March 2013, during the rainy season, in order to detect and estimate the number of individuals of each species in riparian zonas. Three surveys were carried out between 0600 and 0900 hr and between 1620 and 1720 hr were performed, alternating the hours of searching between the sampling units and between the surveys. The sampling units follow the method RAPELD plots in riparian zones. Searches were conducted by a researcher and the records were tabulated separately according to the method.
