Mycobacterium tuberculosis genomes and lung transcriptomes from infected mice

In this project we sequenced the genomes of 2 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (clinical isolates) collected one from South Africa and another from Vietnam. The strains were exposed to the immune system of vaccinated mice and then collected in order to sequence and identify genomic alterations associated with virulence changes. Further, the lungs of mice infected with these isolates previous and after exposure to BCG vaccinated hosts were processed for RNA extraction and lung transcriptomes were assembled from animals (n=3) at day 21 postinfection.
