Dataset for: Health and habitat vulnerability are associated with global lower respiratory infection burden

This dataset contains the country-year analytical data and supporting outputs used for the study “Health and habitat vulnerability are associated with global lower respiratory infection burden.” The dataset links publicly available Global Burden of Disease Study 2023 estimates with climate vulnerability and physical climate risk indicators. Respiratory disease burden measures include age-standardised disability-adjusted life year rates for lower respiratory infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and otitis media across 204 countries. Climate vulnerability variables include the ND-GAIN overall vulnerability index and selected sector-specific vulnerability domains, including health, habitat, infrastructure, and water. Realised climate-related physical risk was measured using the Global Climate Physical Risk Index. The dataset also includes country-level socio-demographic index values, SDI quintiles, climate-zone classifications, and derived variables used for panel regression, sector-specific vulnerability analysis, SDI-stratified marginal effects, spatial typology, and sensitivity analyses. All source datasets are publicly available. This Zenodo record provides the harmonised analytical dataset and derived outputs used to support reproducibility of the manuscript.
