The Astroides calycularis transcriptome is composed from twelve colonies collected from four populations in Ischia, Italy. The transcriptome was generated to study gene flow among populations and to explore local adaptation. One population in this study is exposed to low pH conditions due to its close proximity to a CO2 vent system. High pCO2 habitats and their populations provide an unparalleled opportunity to assess how species may survive into future conditions of acidification and to reveal if traits that confer tolerance exist.
