Bacillus thuringiensis svar. israelensis based larvicides have been used to control Aedes aegypti with effectiveness and low risk of resistance. However, the potential impact of continuous Bti exposure in several aspects of mosquito biology still requires assessments. For this purpose, we established a laboratory strain RecBti, that has been treated with Bti now for more than 35 generations, to mirror a chronical exposure. Therefore, this study aimed at investigating the transcriptome of this strain followed by an evaluation of the quantitative transcription profile of some genes involved in arbovirus immune response. The transcriptome of RecBti females and a reference strain were compared by next generation sequencing (RNAseq) to provide an overview of their expression profile.
