19 fecal samples were collected from healthy elderly with more than 80 years (average age = 84), aiming to discover additional B. longum strains for further in vitro experimentation. Thus, shallow shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed to corroborate the abundance of B. longum species that populate healthy elderly surveyed in this study.
