File overview • Database.xlsx This Excel workbook contains two worksheets: • Database: the main dataset used in the empirical analysis. • METADATA: documentation for each variable, including the variable acronym/name, a brief description, units of measurement, the original data source, and a hyperlink to the corresponding source. • Script Tables.do Stata do-file that imports and processes the data and produces the results reported in the paper’s tables. • Script Figures.R R script that generates the figures reported in the paper. How to run 1. Open Script Tables.do in Stata and run the full script to reproduce the table outputs. 2. Run Script Figures.R in R (or RStudio) to reproduce the figures. All variables and their definitions, units, and sources are described in the METADATA worksheet of Database.xlsx.
