This is an assembled reference transcriptome for Equisetum arvense. The sequences were generated using 454 sequencing. Contigs were assembled using iAssembler (Zheng et al., 2011), and annotated using a BLAST search against the NCBI nr database with an e-value cutoff of 1 e-5. There currently are no completed genome sequences for the monilophytes (ferns + horsetails). This reference transcriptome provides a high quality, well annotated, resource for performing transcriptomic and genomic experiments with the model monilophyte E. arvense.
