The dataset is the Slope-Adjusted Waveform Index product of the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI), abbreviated as GEDI-SAWA, which aims to mitigate the impact of terrain slope on the assessment of forest vertical structure and aboveground carbon stocks using 25 m GEDI large-footprint laser waveforms. The temporal coverage of the dataset spans from April 18, 2019 to March 16, 2023. The total stored data volume is 51.0 TB, with a total of 73,473 tracks of data, and the data is organized by acquisition date (in days). The files are stored in HDF5 format, and the naming convention is consistent with the officially released GEDI products. For example, the GEDI-SAWA file named "GEDI02_C1_sawa_2019108002012_O01959_01_T03909_02_003_01_V002.h5" corresponds to the GEDI L1B file named "GEDI01_B_2019108002012_O01959_01_T03909_02_003_01_V002.h5". In GEDI-SAWA, the field named "RHT" refers to slope-adjusted waveform indices at different energy percentiles. Each footprint records 24 SAWA indices corresponding to 5th, 10th, 15th, …, 85th, 90th, 95th, 96th, 97th, 98th, 99th, and 100th energy percentiles respectively. The unit of the RHT field in SAWA files is centimeters (cm), and it is stored in integer format. To convert it to the standard unit meter (m), a conversion factor of 0.01 must be multiplied.
