The genome of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides strain B345/93 was sequenced as part of the EVOLMYCO initiative funded by The French National Research Agency (ANR). This project aims to study the evolution of ruminant mycoplasmas with a special focus on horizontal gene transfer. Strain B345/93 from Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides was isolated in 1993 from cattle with accute pneumonia in Barcelos, Portugal.
