资源简介:
This dataset contains the experimental data supporting the evaluation of avocado seed (Persea americana) and watermelon rind (Citrullus lanatus) ethanol extracts as plant-derived corrosion inhibitors for API 5LX52 steel in NACE 1D196 saline medium under continuous CO₂ bubbling. The dataset includes calibration data for total polyphenol and citrulline quantification, extraction-condition results, response-surface and Pareto analyses, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectra, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) thermograms, linear polarization resistance (LPR) and Tafel-derived electrochemical data, cyclic voltammetry records, adsorption-isotherm calculations, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) roughness and surface-morphology data. The data were generated to support the comparison of two agro-industrial residues with different chemical profiles as greener corrosion-inhibitor sources. Avocado seed extract showed the highest inhibition efficiency under the tested conditions, whereas watermelon rind extract showed concentration-sensitive behavior. The dataset may be useful for researchers working on green corrosion inhibitors, plant-extract valorization, electrochemical corrosion testing, adsorption mechanisms, and corrosion control in saline CO₂-containing environments relevant to petroleum-associated systems.
