Highthroughput sequencing of African green monkey stools

It is very important to identify viruses in amimals as most human infectious diseases are caused by zoonotic viruses. African green monkey is a non-human primate model widely used in biomedical research. It is also kept in many zoos and has a lot of contact with humans. Therefore, research on the viruses in African green monkey is of great significance for the prevention and control of emerging zoonosis. In this study, nucleic acids were extracted from feces of 10 African green monkeys with diarrhea, and the virus diversity was detected by high-throughput sequencing.
