In recent years, skin commensal Staphylococcus haemolyticus has gained increasing attention as an emerging, multidrug-resistant pathogen associated with nosocomial infections. Particularly, in bloodstream infections (late onset-sepsis) of very preterm infants. In France, reports of late onset sepsis associated with S. haemolyticus have clearly increased since 2020. We aimed to identify S. haemolyticus lineages present and potentially disseminating in French Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs).
