No periodontal pocket should exist with temporary teeth. However, during definitive tooth eruption, the formation of pseudo-pockets occurs when the gingival epithelial connects to the enamel of the erupting tooth. Along with eruptive tooth movement, oral bacteria and blood are mixed in the process until the permanent tooth achieves its final position. During this process, is there a contamination of periodontal bacteria into these pseudo-pockets, leading to preemption for gingivitis and periodontal diseases?
