The New South Wales Government is committed to ensuring the community is well prepared and\r\nthat emergency services and government agencies are able to deliver effective emergency\r\nmanagement support, for events whether within State borders or elsewhere.\r\nNSW 2021 plan sets the Government's agenda for change in New South Wales. Of note, Goal 28 is\r\nto ensure NSW is ready to deal with major emergencies and natural disasters.\r\nThis guideline is prepared under the auspices of the EMPLAN and Evacuation Management\r\nGuideline, to compliment relevant sub and supporting plans.\r\nMajor Evacuation Centre Guidelines (June 2014) Version 1.0 Page | 6\r\nIt takes an all-hazards approach and outlines the key requirements and principles, authorities,\r\nresponsibilities and mechanisms for the conduct of evacuations where formal emergency\r\nmanagement arrangements are required.
