资源简介:
The Hawaiian crow (Corvus hawaiiensis) is a crow species endemic to Hawaii and only lives in Hawaii. It has a strong flying ability and is know to be resourceful. It is currently extinct in the wild, with about 100 animals from breeding in captivity. This blood sample was collected by Bryce Masuda, from a female, at the University of Hawaii, Manoa in 2020. It was used to generate a high-quality reference for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP) and conservation research. Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genomes Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Olivier Fedrigo and Erich D. Jarvis, and the project coordinated and supported by Stefanie Grosser and Bruce Robertson at the University of Otago, New Zealand, as well as by Jolene Sutton, Erin Datlof, Oliver Ryder, and Catherine Grueber.
