资源简介:
Data Set 1: Approximately seventy-two pan traps were dispersed on the Arboretum Grassland near the Stong Pond at York University’s Keele Campus over two days that were one week apart (thirty-six pan traps per day). The pan traps were divided into three colours, red (R), yellow (Y), and white (W), and were equally split up between the three designated locations within the grassland. In each location, either mid-grassland (M), close to the edge of the grassland nearest the pond (P), or close to the edge of the grassland opposite the pond (E), the equal amount of coloured pan traps (4 per colour per location) were randomly set up with at least 1 meter separating each pan trap. The pan traps were then left for approximately one and a half hours. At the end of the two hours, the pan traps were collected, and the number of insects caught in the soapy water of the pan trap, the colour of the pan and the location of the trap, were recorded. Data Set 2: Coloured pan traps was placed around York University's Keele Campus (either red (R), white (W), blue (B), or yellow (Y)). The traps were set up in wooded areas, either by Willia Smalls Centre (WSC), the Stong Woodlot (SWL), another woodlot on campus (WL), the Danby Woods (D), by Vari Hall (V), or by Lassonde Building (L). Each trap was set up randomly within the woodlots with at least one meter separating each pan. After being left for approximatley one hour and thirty minutes, the insect caught in the soapy water of the pan trap were documented. This was done over the course of 2 days, exactly one week apart.
