资源简介:

This research investigates the critical role of pollination services in shaping fruit quality, specifically focusing on how different pollinator traits and species richness affect nutritional and organoleptic fruit characteristics. While pollination's impact on crop yield is well-established, less is known about its influence on fruit quality traits such as size, shape, texture, and nutritional content. The study addresses this gap by conducting a systematic global analysis using multivariate meta-analyses, incorporating data from 79 studies across different biomes, pollinator guilds, and crop types. The research reveals that while pollination generally improves fruit quality by more than 30%, its effects vary across different fruit traits: organoleptic traits like size and shape benefit more from pollination than nutritional traits. Notably, the study highlights that species richness (rather than just visitation rate) plays a significant role in enhancing nutritional quality, such as micronutrient content. The findings also emphasize the importance of maintaining both wild and managed pollinator populations, as they contribute to higher fruit quality across various agricultural settings. In conclusion, the research underscores the necessity for diversified pollination strategies and better pollinator management to ensure the production of high-quality, nutritious crops, ultimately benefiting food security, human health, and the agricultural economy
