Hollis Space Shuttle Archive

Primary-source operational documentation from the NASA Space Shuttle Program, assembled over a career at Kennedy Space Center and in the decades since. This deposit contains 2,004 documents, photographs, drawings, and audio recordings in 20 ZIP archives, covering launch processing, main propulsion, ground operations, flight procedures, facilities, and program history from the early design studies of the 1970s through the final flight in 2011. Material includes Operations and Maintenance Instructions, Ground Launch Sequencer documentation, GOAL language specifications, JSC flight procedures handbooks and systems workbooks, NSTS program documents, HABS/HAER historic facility surveys of Kennedy Space Center, Space Shuttle Main Engine and Main Propulsion System engineering material, Columbia Accident Investigation Board volumes and associated FMEA/CIL documentation, HAL/S flight software language specifications, contractor design studies, and Firing Room launch processing voice recordings. A substantial part of the archive is documentation that was operationally routine at the time and has since become difficult to find - procedure volumes, console handbooks, and facility documentation that existed in working quantities and were largely discarded as the program wound down. Each ZIP contains a README.txt listing its contents. MANIFEST.json carries a SHA-256 checksum, byte size, and provenance classification for every individual file.
