PPR — Monumental and Remarkable Trees

The Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, by means of Regional Law No 24 of 29 December 2016 (Law linked to the 2017-2019 budget manoeuvre) has innovated the regional framework useful for the preservation of monumental trees, making it consistent with the principles of the national reference law (14 January 2013, n. 10). The information layer relating to the monumental trees of the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia refers to the Regional List of Monumental Trees drawn up with the aim of including the most relevant regional monumental trees in the national lists (Interministerial Decree of 23 October 2014 Establishing the list of monumental trees of Italy and guiding principles and criteria for their census). This list (approved by D.Preg 055/Pres. of 6 March 2017) was drawn up by the Regional Biodiversity Structure, in accordance with the criteria and guiding principles for the census of monumental trees planned at national level. The information layer has been prepared with reference to the selected monumental specimens as well as to some additional evidence identified on the basis of the data provided during participation in the preparation of the contents of the Regional Landscape Plan. The data relating to the participation phase will therefore be subject to further future verifications.
