Streptomyces sp. A012304 was isolated from soil as a producer strain of a novel antibiotic alaremycin (Awa et al., 2005). This genome sequencing project aims to find out biosynthetic genes of alaremycin. This project contributes to understanding the biosynthetic pathway of alaremycin and its application in basic and medical biology.
