AI-Generated Images of Imagined Places Created During IDI Interviews in Poznań (PL) and Birmingham (UK)

<p>The dataset contains 105 images created using generative artificial intelligence (ChatGPT - model 4o). The images were generated in 2025 during in-depth interviews conducted with 36 participants divided between Poznań (Poland) and Birmingham (UK). Participants were asked to iteratively co-create with GAI visual representations of: (1) a familiar city/hometown; (2) an unknown city, intended to foster outsider perspectives (residents of Poznań described Birmingham and vice versa); and (3) a global city, comprising a famous place known primarily through media exposure. The dataset contains images identified by participants as best reflecting their perceptions of a given place. The images are in .png and .jpg format.</p>
