Genome-wide Identification of the Cassava PSK Gene Family and Promotion of Adventitious Root Formation

Phytosulfokine (PSK) is a key peptide hormone regulating plant growth and development. This study conducts the first genome-wide identification and functional characterization of the PSK gene family in cassava, a vital tropical crop. Through integrated bioinformatics, transcriptomics, and physiological analyses, we reveal the role of a specific MePSK gene in promoting adventitious root formation, potentially via a novel auxin-independent pathway, providing new insights for cassava genetic improvement.
