This program is designed to provide a new comma fully direct calibration of the pixel-based CTE model. The initial calibration of the model in 2013 involved studying the trails behind warm pixels (WPs) and determining the trapping-and-release model that turned the WPs back into delta functions again. This approach worked for bright WPs comma but it was hard to examine the full trails behind faint WPs. So in 2016 comma we developed CAL-14880 to take a set of images with various post-flash levels so we could examine the survival of WPs as a function of background. This allowed a direct calibration of the losses without reference to the electrons in the trails comma thus decoupling the trapping and release aspects of the model. This program (CAL-16440) is an extension of that methodology. In addition to its extension of the direct approach to the entire range of pixel-packet size comma the detector is virgul40% older than when CAL-14880 was taken in 2016 comma and as such we have 40% more WPs to work with and the CTE-loss signal is 40% stronger comma essentially allowing a factor of two more constraints on the model.
