DMTA surfaces studied in the article "Evolution of dietary preferences of the Lophiodontidae (Mammalia, Perissodactyla) from Southern France"

This dataset displays the dental surface used for the dental microwear surface analyses (DMTA) from the study "Evolution of dietary preferences of the Lophiodontidae (Mammalia, Perissodactyla) from Southern France" submitted to Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology.

This includes extant species (Ceratotherium simum, Diceros bicornis, Dicerorhinus sumatrensis, Rhinoceros sondaicus, Rhinoceros unicornis and Tapirus terrestris) as well as fossil species of lophiodontids (Lophiaspis maurettei, Eolophiodon sp., Eolophiodon laboriense, Lophiodon leptorhynchum, Lophiodon tapirotherium and Lophiodon lautricense).
