Lagrangian simulation of synthetic drifters deployed at surface. The synthetic drifters are advected with a ROMS model with 4 km grid resolution using daily averaged output. The ROMS model has 35 vertical terrain-following layers. New positions of the synthetic drifters are updated every hour by interpolation. The drifter fields are stored as 6 hourly data.
