资源简介:
Diseases associated with Aeromonas hydrophila are receiving increasing attention, as the number of reported cases grows worldwide. In animals, A. hydrophila has caused hemorrhagic septicemia in fish and induced miscarriages and infertility in horses. In humans, A. hydrophila has been implicated in food- or waterborne gastroenteritis, diarrhea, septicemia, peritonitis, septicemia, and soft-tissue wound infections. The pathogenesis of A. hydrophila in snakes is still blank yet. In our study, we confirmed that the strain Aeromonas hydrophila WCX23, a novel genotype via MLST (ST516), was the causal agent of the outbreak of diarrhea among snakes.Challenge tests revealed that A. hydrophila WCX23 were highly pathogenicity to snakes and mouse. This is the first time to sequence the complete genome of A. hydrophila from diarrheal snake that could enrich genes datebase and be used for comparative genomic studies with other fish- and human-pathogenic A. hydrophila strains. Thus we could reveal the potential function of genes and the pathogenesis of the bacteria.
