37 adult Pisaster ochraceus individuals were repeatedly sampled over two weeks for 16s amplicon sequencing in order to characterize the role of the microbial community in Sea Star Wasting Disease. 29 of the 37 developed symptoms of Sea Star Wasting and died; 8 remained healthy to the end of the experiment. This allowed for comparisons between sick and healthy individuals through time and symptom progression of this highly virulent disease.
