Although the interactions among anammox and symbiotic bacteria in anammox consortia have attracted increasing attention, the interaction between anammox bacteria and archaea remains poorly understood. In the present study, methanogenic anaerobic granular sludge (MAGS) and mature anammox sludge (AnS) were inoculated and obtained six distinct sizes of anammox particles were in the UASB system.
