Risk areas outside floodplains in Hesse: Designation according to the Water Resources Act (WHG) §78b (paragraph 1: Risk areas outside floodplains are areas for which hazard maps are to be drawn up in accordance with Section 74(2) and which are not designated as floodplains in accordance with Section 76(2) or (3) or are provisionally secured; this does not apply to areas that are predominantly influenced by the tides, unless otherwise specified by state law. The defined risk areas outside flood areas have a minimum size of more than 100 m2 as individual areas.
