A longitudinal survey of potential N-linked glycosylation sites in circulating simian-human immunodeficiency virus (SHIV) in a rhesus macaque. Plasma samples were taken from rhesus macaque T681, infected with SHIV.CH1012, to assess the viral quasispecies as it coevolved with the immune response. An amplicon spanning PNGS (potential N-linked glycosylation sites) 362 and 461 in the viral envelope was sequenced at 28, 56, 84, 126, and 166 days post-infection to evaluate PNGS deletions in the context of T681's RHA10 antibody lineage development.
