资源简介:
Painted black-on-white, effigy fragment, Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #4472, Morris FS 4673. Analyzed by Lori Reed 2006. Granular igneous rock and sherd temper suggests the effigy was manufactured at Aztec. Fragment is likely from the tail end of a bird effigy and represents only about 10% of the original vessel. Image AZRU8-4472 A: side view of effigy fragment showing painted line around bird tail. Image AZRU8-4472 B: view of effigy fragment from the tip end of tail showing painted design. Recovered from Earl Morris excavation of Kiva S, Aztec West Ruin. Kiva S is briefly mentioned in Morris (1924) in reference to a burial, but otherwise there is no published description of Kiva S. Reference: Earl Morris, 1924, Burials in the Aztec Ruin, Volume XXVI, Part III, Anthropological Papers of the American Museum of Natural History, New York.
