Geospatial data supporting a regional typology of boreal wetlands in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec, Canada
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides the spatial distribution of eight groups of boreal wetlands (R1–R8) across a 41,008 km² study area in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec, Canada. It supports a multi-scale typology based on wetland patch size, shape and connectivity. These attributes were characterised using patch area (AREA), perimeter-to-area ratio (PARA) and Euclidean nearest-neighbour distance (ENN). Local typologies were developed using hierarchical agglomerative clustering within four watersheds: Davy, Barrière, Chochocouane and Saint-Maurice. The typology was subsequently generalised to the regional scale using a Random Forest classifier. Connectivity is represented by ENN and describes a structural component of wetland spatial configuration. Hydrological and ecological functions were not directly measured. The dataset enables users to examine wetland locations and regional group assignments at spatial scales finer than those displayed in the published maps. This dataset accompanies Aymen Lamloum’s master’s thesis at Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, supervised by Osvaldo Valeria and co-supervised by Guillaume Grosbois.
