This dataset includes raw X-ray fluorescence (XRF) elemental data, grain size (GS) distribution data, and raw gamma ray counts for Cs-137 dating. Data were obtained from three core samples collected in Anegada, British Virgin Islands in ephemeral salt ponds during the dry season. The raw XRF data was generated by an ITRAX core scanner with Cox Analytical manufacturer settings for Mo-tube then batch evaluated using modified settings to capture main elements representative in the core across different grain sizes present (e.g., fine and coarse material). GS was measured by the Malvern Mastersizer Model 3000 particle size analyzer; each sample was run five times and results were averaged. For gamma dating, algal mats and mud at varying depths in Cores 1, 2, 3, were collected for analysis on the Canberra Germanium Detector 747 and run separately for each core.
